Known as “The Ultimate Road Comic” for his willingness to perform on the road nearly 250 days a year every year, Chris Smith began his stand-up comedy career after graduating college where he had a successful comedy radio show from 1985-1987. Early in his stand-up career Chris earned a finalist spot in the National Lampoon Comedy Search contest and two separate Johnny Walker Comedy Competitions which opened the door for him to open for such comics as Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Jon Stewart, Drew Carey, Jeff Foxworthy, Howie Mandel, Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey, Richard Jeni, and Rodney Carrington among others.

Chris has also opened for musical acts such as Johnny Paycheck, Crystal Gayle, Foghat, and Terri Clark. Chris has been on the road ever since performing in 48 states and Canada only taking time off to co-host two morning radio shows, one in 1990 and the other in 2001 and taping a TV pilot.

In addition to performing at hundreds of comedy clubs throughout the country, Chris also performs at casinos, colleges, high schools, country clubs, military bases, corporate events, and charity fundraisers for such groups as Comic Relief, Flood Relief, M.A.D.D., Juvenile Diabetes, Police and Firefighters, Multiple Sclerosis, and many children’s hospital events. A versatile comedian, Chris has successfully done shows that range from church functions and black-tie dinners to biker bars and strip clubs, which has earned him respect amongst his peers for his ability to do a quality show in any situation and for any type of audience.
